Ned Nwoko’s Aide Dismisses Smear Campaign Against Step-Down Power Project for Ndokwa Region
ABUJA/Nigeria: Hon. Gloria Okolugbo, Director of Communications for Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, has strongly condemned a recent article circulating on the Ndokwa Vanguard Network, describing it as a baseless and malicious attack against the Senator’s efforts to bring development to the Ndokwa region.
In a statement, Okolugbo criticized a professor for aligning with a “faceless group” to propagate falsehoods about Senator Nwoko’s commitment to the long-overdue step-down power project. She expressed disappointment that a supposed intellectual would prioritize personal gain over the collective good of the Ndokwa people.
“It is both appalling and shameful that a professor, who should be a custodian of truth and intellectual integrity, has lent his voice to such baseless allegations. Instead of championing progress, he has chosen to spread misinformation for self-interest,” the statement read.
Okolugbo refuted claims that Senator Nwoko is attempting to relocate the substation project to his “native axis,” labeling the allegations as unfounded and politically motivated. She described the accusations as an attempt to derail a critical project that promises to bring electricity and economic empowerment to the Ndokwa region after decades of neglect.
“This project is a beacon of hope for our people, and Senator Nwoko is unwavering in his commitment to its realization. The professor and the faceless group behind this smear campaign must present concrete evidence to back their claims or face legal and reputational consequences,” she added.
The statement emphasized that Senator Nwoko’s advocacy for the step-down power project is driven by a vision to uplift the Ndokwa people, urging critics to abandon divisive rhetoric and support initiatives that foster community development.
“The Ndokwa people deserve progress, not distractions fueled by selfish interests. History will judge those who attempt to sabotage the collective good of their community for personal gain,” Okolugbo concluded.
Senator Nwoko has been vocal about his plans to tackle the long-standing electricity challenges in Ndokwa, with the step-down power project being a cornerstone of his development agenda for the region.
