ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is set to convene a crucial stakeholders’ summit to advance the creation of Anioma as Nigeria’s 37th state.
In a statement from the senator’s office, made available to Ndokwa Reporters Online, announced that the , theme “Renewed Quest for the Creation of Anioma State,” will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Grand Hotel in Asaba, beginning at 10 a.m.
The event is expected to draw participants from various sectors, including traditional rulers, presidents-general of communities within Delta North’s nine local government areas, youth groups, women’s organizations, and professional bodies.
This landmark gathering will focus on the historical evolution of the Anioma state creation movement, which dates back over 50 years, and will explore the political and economic potentials of the proposed state.
It is noteworthy that Senator Nwoko recently introduced a bill in the Senate advocating for the creation of Anioma State, sparking robust national debate.
