The Organized Ndokwa Effort (ONE), an apolitical group committed to advancing Ndokwa’s development, has aptly noted that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori offers a pivotal moment for progress. With Ndokwa indigenes holding influential positions such as Deputy Governor, Commissioner for Finance, and Managing Director of DESOPADEC, the region wields significant political and economic leverage in Delta State. This is a rare alignment of circumstances that Ndokwa must capitalize on. As ONE rightly stated, “This is a defining moment for the Ndokwa people to align their developmental priorities with the state’s vision.”
However, past experiences serve as a stark reminder of how a few individuals, driven by personal ambition, have repeatedly compromised Ndokwa’s collective interests. Critical projects, such as improved power transmission from the Okpai Independent Power Plant and road infrastructure, have languished due to this betrayal of trust.
