National Youth Alliance Launches Ambitious “We Move 9ja Project” Ahead of 2027 Elections

ABUJA/Nigeria: In a strategic move preceding the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, the National Youth Alliance (NYA) has initiated a groundbreaking effort, the “We Move 9ja Project,” with the goal of enrolling no less than 50 million youth into its network. The objective is to catalyze transformative change, ultimately leading to the emergence of a government attuned to the needs of the masses.

NYA National President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, disclosed this significant development while addressing a select group of youth leaders in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, on February 1, 2024. According to a statement released by his Media and Publicity Special Assistant, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, Ambassador Abbas emphasized the urgency of patriotism at the gathering.

“Nigeria is our home; we don’t have anywhere else to call our fatherland. Hence, we must all come together in patriotism and save our nation by ensuring only credible leaders emerge,” stated Ambassador Abbas, urging a unified effort towards a common cause.

As part of the initiative’s organizational structure, NYA aims to establish offices in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with designated individuals responsible for spearheading the movement in their respective states.

Ambassador Abbas highlighted NYA’s unwavering commitment to the Nigerian Youth, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to creating new opportunities and leaving no stone unturned in achieving its goals.

Earlier, on January 31, 2024, in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, Ambassador Abbas reiterated NYA’s support for the youth and women who have consistently opposed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government. He criticized the government for its treatment of individuals protesting against electoral injustice and pledged NYA’s commitment to electoral impartiality and judicial steadfastness, asserting that democracy thrives on fairness and justice.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Abbas announced the inauguration of NYA’s Jigawa chapter on Sunday, February 4, 2024, expressing optimism that approximately one million youth would join the movement before the end of February 2024.

The “We Move 9ja Project” has outlined several key objectives, including operating as a non-aligned political organization, galvanizing Nigerians of all ages to contribute to the nation’s progress, advancing and protecting the interests of Nigeria and its citizens, ensuring government accountability, serving as a check against hindrances to Nigeria’s progress, and enlightening citizens on the importance of active involvement in politics and good governance.
