NADESSTU hails Oborevwori over approval of N713M for 2024 Bursary
ASABA/Nigeria: The National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU Worldwide) has lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving ₦713 million for the payment of the 2024 bursary to Delta State students enrolled in higher institutions nationwide.
In a statement issued on Monday in Asaba, NADESSTU National President, Comrade Wiska Monday, described the approval as a monumental step towards alleviating the financial strain faced by students and fostering academic excellence within the state.
“This bursary initiative not only eases the economic burden on our students but also serves as an inspiration for more young Deltans to pursue their education,” Wiska remarked. He further praised the gesture as evidence of the state government’s unwavering commitment to education and youth welfare, emphasising its role in creating a conducive academic environment for students grappling with financial challenges.
Wiska called on local government councils across the state to emulate the Governor’s proactive approach by introducing supportive measures for students within their jurisdictions. Such actions, he noted, would complement the state’s efforts and strengthen the overall educational framework in Delta State.
The NADESSTU president expressed confidence that the bursary scheme would have a lasting impact on the educational landscape and set a benchmark for future initiatives aimed at empowering students across diverse fields.
