MEAN Rallies Support for Senator Ned Nwoko, Passes Vote of Confidence

AGBOR/Nigeria: The Movement for the Emancipation of Anioma Nation (MEAN) has passed a resounding vote of confidence on Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly.

This declaration of support came during a well-attended rally held at the Alihama town hall in Agbor, the administrative headquarter of Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State. The motion, moved by Hon. Mike Monye, General Secretary of MEAN, and seconded by Apostle Ayo Ashiedu, the group’s National President, received unanimous endorsement from the Anioma people present at the event.

The rally brought together MEAN coordinators from all nine local government areas within the Delta North Senatorial District and drew a sizeable crowd of supporters who hailed Senator Nwoko’s contributions to the region.

In his keynote address, Apostle Ashiedu extolled Senator Nwoko’s efforts in championing Anioma’s development, declaring, “Our mission as a formidable organisation is to advocate for a better life for our Anioma people. And for that to be possible in this present Nigeria, we have seen Senator Ned Nwoko as the one chosen to make it happen. His moves at the Senate attest to that.

“We have seen the light in him and his desire for the growth and development of Anioma land. Hence, we have decided to stand by him. We hold Senator Nwoko in very high esteem because of his good representation. Ned Nwoko is our hero. An attack on Ned is an attack on MEAN,” Ashiedu added.

The rally also underscored MEAN’s ongoing advocacy for the creation of Anioma State. According to Apostle Ashiedu, the proposed state represents a long-standing aspiration of the Anioma people, and Senator Nwoko’s commitment to this cause has earned him the unwavering support of the organisation.

“Delta North is marginalised in terms of infrastructure in this dispensation,” Ashiedu noted. “Hence, the need to speak out and call for equity among the three senatorial districts of Delta State. MEAN stands firmly with Senator Nwoko in his agitation for Anioma State, as well as his broader vision for human and capital development in our region.”

Local government coordinators of MEAN also pledged their allegiance to Senator Nwoko, vowing to return to their respective constituencies to mobilise further grassroots support for his initiatives. Their speeches were met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd, who lauded Senator Nwoko’s dedication to the Anioma cause.

The event featured a vibrant showcase of Anioma cultural attire and music, adding a festive tone to the occasion. Participants, many clad in traditional regalia, praised Senator Nwoko and offered prayers for his continued protection and success.

In his closing remarks, Apostle Ashiedu expressed gratitude to all attendees who travelled far and wide to participate in the rally. He reiterated MEAN’s commitment to standing by Senator Nwoko in his efforts to secure a brighter future for the Anioma people.

The rally solidified MEAN’s position as a leading voice for the Anioma people and underscored its determination to advocate for equity and development within Delta State.
