LGA Elections: Delta State Workers to Close 12 Noon Today
ASABA/Nigeria: The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved an early closure for state public service workers at 12 noon today, Friday, 12th of July, 2024.
This decision, as announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, aims to ensure that public servants can fully participate in the State Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024. “This measure allows our workers to perform their civic responsibilities,” Dr. Emu stated.
However, the statement highlighted that workers in essential services such as health, security, and media should adopt a flexible schedule to enable them to vote while continuing to provide necessary services.
Voters are also urged to conduct themselves peacefully during the elections, with security personnel on high alert to prevent any disruptions.
