ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Law Students Association of Nigeria (DELSAN) has expressed its profound gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his administration’s recent bursary payment to the 2022/2023 Delta State alumni at the Nigerian Law School.
In a letter co-signed by DELSAN National President Akosa Daniels and former National President Innocent Ighoawworua, the students commended Governor Oborevwori for his unwavering commitment to education and the development of human resources, calling his leadership “exemplary.”
The letter reads: “Your administration’s investment in human development is a testament to your vision for a brighter future for our state. The bursary grant has provided immense relief, motivation, and hope to Delta State students recently called to the Nigerian Bar in March 2024, enabling some of us to pursue further academic and career goals without financial burden.”
Highlighting the accomplishments of Delta State law students, DELSAN noted that Umukoro Nyerovwo Godstime Esq., a Delta State indigene, was named the Best Male Graduate of the Nigerian Law School’s 2022/2023 cohort. They further remarked that Delta State produced over ten First Class graduates among the 251 who passed, cementing the state’s reputation for academic excellence.
The letter continued: “We acknowledge and appreciate your recognition of education’s pivotal role in shaping our state’s future, your unwavering commitment to students’ welfare and development, and your proactive measures to address financial constraints hindering academic success. This gesture has rekindled our faith in your leadership capacity and vision, inspiring us to excel academically.”
The law students concluded by pledging to uphold Delta State’s reputation as they embark on their professional journeys, promising to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development and to make their governor and community proud.
