Isoko North Now a Hub of Peace, Fully Committed to Oborevwori’s 2027 Re-Election – Ogorugba

ASABA/Nigeria: The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has declared that the council has become a hub of peace, with security challenges effectively contained.
Ogorugba made this known on Thursday when he hosted the Isoko North Traditional Rulers Council at his office in Ozoro, the council’s headquarters. He stated that the once-troubled areas of Ozoro and Owhelogbo have enjoyed sustained peace, attributing the development to the commitment of traditional rulers in fostering harmony within their domains.
“I can assure you that Isoko North Local Government is peaceful and very safe. We have successfully curtailed the recent clashes in Ozoro and addressed security concerns in Owhelogbo. Some individuals involved have been arrested, and investigations are ongoing. I have engaged community leaders, urging them to allow security agencies to carry out their duties without interference,” Ogorugba said.
The council chairman, widely regarded as a “digital performing chairman,” commended the Delta State Commissioner of Police for his swift intervention in reinforcing security in the area. He also called on traditional rulers to continue supporting government efforts to sustain peace.
Present at the meeting were Vice Chairman of the Council, Evelyn Aluta, alongside notable monarchs, including HRM Romanus Ejirememe Inana, the Odiologbo of Owhe Kingdom; HRM Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo Ibuka I, Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom; HRM F.O. Agbabe JP Ekpolo II, Ovie of Okpe-Isoko Kingdom; HRM Othuke Murphy Urugbezi JP, Ogwara I, Ovie of Ellu Kingdom; and HRM Matthew Ikpoku, Orie II, Odiologbo of Ofagbe Kingdom.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Ogorugba reaffirmed his commitment to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election bid, declaring that Isoko North would deliver an overwhelming victory for the governor in the 2027 election.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the 25 local government chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Ogorugba expressed confidence that Oborevwori’s developmental strides had positioned him far ahead of any potential challengers.
“Come 2027, the election will be Sheriff versus Sheriff because the governor’s performance speaks for itself. His MORE agenda has transformed Delta State, and we in Isoko North are fully committed to ensuring he secures a landslide victory,” he said.
He urged party leaders to remain united and work collectively to strengthen the PDP’s presence at the grassroots level.
Efe Okoledo, Chairman of the PDP in Uvwie Local Government Area and leader of the delegation, commended Ogorugba for his hospitality. He emphasized that Isoko North, as a strategic host of federal constituency meetings, deserved special recognition, given Ogorugba’s past service as a colleague in the council leadership.
