Ijaw Leaders Hail Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as ThisDay’s “Governor of the Year”
ASABA/Nigeria: Political leaders and stakeholders of the Ijaw nation in Delta State have congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his recognition as “Governor of the Year” by ThisDay Newspaper.
In a statement jointly endorsed by 62 prominent Ijaw leaders, including Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, Senator James Manager, and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the group described the award as a well-deserved honor that reflects the governor’s transformative leadership.
The leaders noted that under Oborevwori’s stewardship, Delta State has experienced unprecedented development, stating that the “Governor of the Year” accolade would further inspire him to achieve greater milestones for the state’s growth and prosperity.
“There is no over-emphasizing the fact that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda is propelling Delta State into an era of sustainable social and economic development. Most major cities in Delta State have become construction sites,” the statement read.
The leaders praised the governor for fostering a business-friendly environment that has attracted both local and foreign investors, advancing urban-rural integration, and making Delta State a model for others in the country.
“As he continues to steer the ship of the MORE Agenda, we wish him greater successes and recognitions. May the Delta State of our dreams come into reality,” they added.
Pledging their unwavering support, the Ijaw leaders reaffirmed their commitment to partnering with Governor Oborevwori to ensure the continuous success of his administration’s MORE Agenda, which they said has transformed the state and improved the lives of its people.
