IGP Commissions Modern Ugborikoko Police Division, Hails Tantita Security for Strategic Support

EFFURUN/Nigeria: Ugborikoko community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State witnessed a significant milestone on Friday as the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, commissioned the newly built Ugborikoko Divisional Police Headquarters and two operational vehicles donated by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd.

Represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, AIG Salman-Dogo Garba, the IGP described the donation as a bold statement of collaboration between private stakeholders and the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring the safety of lives and property across communities. The commissioning ceremony was marked by excitement and commendation from residents, traditional leaders, and top government functionaries.

The new facility, fully funded and equipped by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure including a dedicated quarter guard post, a generator house, a reconstructed modern police hall, a 30KVA soundproof generator, a 30KVA solar system for uninterrupted power, CCTV cameras, computers, televisions, air conditioning units, a conference room, and a fully furnished interrogation room. In addition to the building, Tantita also donated two Hilux vehicles to enhance the division’s operational mobility.

Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Keston E. Pondi, said the decision to build and equip the police station was rooted in Tantita’s commitment to strengthening peace and rebuilding security across Warri, Effurun, and the surrounding areas.

“No society can thrive without peace and security. As a private security outfit with local roots and global reach, we understand that the first line of defense in preserving peace in Nigeria is the Nigeria Police Force,” Pondi stated. “This is our modest contribution to ensure our people can live, work and thrive in a secure environment.”

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu. Other dignitaries at the event included Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda; the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Johnson Adenola; senior police officers including Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of Police; the Divisional Police Officer of Ugborikoko Division, CSP Temi Agbede Zuokuomor; traditional rulers; and religious leaders.

In his remarks, the IGP, through his representative, praised Tantita Security and its Managing Director, High Chief Pondi, for their vision and investment in public safety. He said the gesture was not only a boost to police operations but also a signal of the growing trust between the public and law enforcement.

“This facility is not just an office for our officers; it is a symbol of partnership, a place where the people can engage with the police in building a safer, stronger and more united community,” IGP Egbetokun said.

He urged other private sector players and well-meaning individuals to emulate Tantita’s example by supporting security agencies in any capacity they can.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, in a statement issued from the Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba, described the event as a milestone in police-community collaboration and a key step toward modernizing policing in the region.
