Ibori Orders Ayiri to Beg Okowa in Public
Ethiope East: A mid drama eschewed in Agbon kingdom, Ethiope East local government of Delta State, as former governor, James Ibori ordered Warri Billionaire, Chief Ayiri Emami, a die-hard loyalist of the former governor and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC to publicly tender unreserved apology to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa over what was described as a cold war between the dual.
According to our correspondent reports that Chief Ibori and Okowa were already seated at the Agbon day celebration when Chief Ayiri Emami walked in, acknowledging cheers from teaming loyalists and party faithful at the event, but was told by Chief Ibori who was sitting with Gov. Okowa to apologize to Okowa.
According to report, he had no other option than to beg the governor in a subtle manner, Ayiri uncomfortable with the public disgrace, dessert the event being disappointed by his acclaimed political godfather at the 2017 Agbon Day celebration at the Otor-Agbon palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, HRM Mike Omeru, Ogurimerime.
According to investigation, trouble seems to have started between Ayiri and Okowa during the 2015 general election, where Ayiri was a major supporter of Tony Obuh, a candidate believed to be sponsored by Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
But what was termed as government of vendetta by Okowa led administration caged all perceived enemy and major opposition during the gubernatorial race, a development that spark off cold wars among the political elites in the State, where Okowa tagged Ayiri as a major threat to his emergence as governor, vowed never to carry Uduaghan and his political apostles along in his government.
Some of Uduaghan’s political apostles not being comfortable with the development pitch tent with the opposition, others decided to stay in the party to fight back, describing Gov. Okowa as not being all inclusive in his administration.
Some prominent politicians, who spoke on the development, described the move as a welcome development by Chief Ibori for genuine reconciliations of all aggrieved party members in the build up to the 2019 general election, since Okowa was believed to be preparing the party final burial in the State.
A top politician in the State who confided on our correspondent explained that Ibori was not happy with the show of shame within the party in the State, especially from Okowa that was alleged to be running government of vendetta.
