Hundreds Receive Medical Attention as Army Executes Outreach in Ogume

KWALE/Nigeria: Residents of Ogume in Ndokwa West area of Delta State have lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army for the launch of a medical scheme for people in the community and it’s environs.

They gave the commendation in Ogume, at the occasion of a Medical Outreach in the locality, which is organized by the Nigerian Army as part of series of activities to commemorate the 2022 Army Day.

The medical outreach was launched at the Olie Primary School playground in Ogume, converted to a make shift hospital with consultation rooms, labs and a pharmacy, including an optometry section for those with sight difficulties and the provision of mosquito nets for malaria prevention.

Thus, the residents trooped in for medical checkup in their hundreds especially the old, the feable, women and children.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the Army Medical program, saying

“This is the first time we are seeing this in our lifetime. I appreciate Nigeria Army for us to at least experience one of our rights. I can see that people are coming out with joy.”

“If you can see my heart, you will know am very happy.”

The Ndokwa West Council Chairman Obi Nzete, represented by Augustine Okom, and the Okpala-Uku of Ogbe-Ogume represented by Dr. Valentine Apkachi, express delight about the development.

“All what we know about Nigerian Army, or what we hear about them is not what we are seeing today.”

“Everything that is positive emanates from love. I want to thank the Commander-in-Chief President Buhari, for allowing this to happen today.”

The Commander 63 Brigade, Brigadier General David Saraso, explained the motive behind the Army medical outreach in the locality.

“To recognize and appreciate the contributions of all these gallant heros, both the living and the dead. Also to enable us project the image of the Nigerian Army.”

An highpoint of the event was the observation of a minute silence in honor of personel of the Army who have paid the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the country.
