Guwor, Members Celebrate Deputy Speaker’s 53rd Birthday
ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, on Tuesday led Principal Officers and lawmakers to the office of the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, to celebrate his 53rd birthday anniversary.
The joyous occasion, held in a convivial atmosphere, was attended by members of the Assembly, including the Clerk of the House, Mr. Otto Aghoghophia, the three Deputy Clerks, Mrs. Isioma Nwabuokwu, Mr. Dogboaeme Olorogun, and Mr. Smart Edogie, as well as the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke.
Visibly elated, Speaker Guwor expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Deputy Speaker, praying for God’s continued protection and blessings in the years ahead. He commended Akpowowo’s wife, Chief (Mrs.) Francisca Arthur-Akpowowo, for organizing a surprise birthday package to mark the special occasion with colleagues in the Assembly.
“May this new chapter bring you continued success and fulfillment,” Guwor said, wishing his Deputy many more years of service, wisdom, and joy.
In his response, an overwhelmed Akpowowo expressed gratitude for the unexpected celebration, acknowledging the kindness and camaraderie of his colleagues. “I am truly humbled by the kindness of Mr. Speaker and all my colleagues,” he said.
He also thanked his wife for her thoughtfulness, adding, “I am committed to continuing our collective efforts to serve Delta State with dedication and integrity.”
The event underscored the unity and mutual respect among the lawmakers, with attendees describing it as a testament to the harmonious relationship within the state legislature.
