Guwor Congratulates New Delta Head of Service, Urges Civil Service Reforms

ASABA/Nigeria: Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated Dr (Mrs) Mininimi Oseji on her appointment and swearing-in as the new Head of Service of Delta State by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

In a congratulatory message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker commended Dr Oseji, who until her appointment served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment. He noted that her emergence as the second female Head of Service since the state’s creation was a testament to her distinguished career in the public service.

Guwor urged Dr Oseji to channel her wealth of experience into driving greater efficiency across the civil service, adding that improved bureaucratic processes would eliminate bottlenecks and support the implementation of innovative policies to enhance public service delivery.

He encouraged the new Head of Service to lead the civil service with integrity and a clear vision, providing direction and accountability that aligns with the developmental goals of the state.

The Speaker emphasized that strict adherence to civil service rules and procedures would promote transparency, good governance, and a more responsive government in Delta.

He also called on the new Head of Service to collaborate closely with the State Assembly, other government institutions, and critical stakeholders to propel sustainable growth and development.

Guwor expressed confidence that Dr Oseji would leave a significant mark in the civil service, and contribute meaningfully to Delta State’s continued progress.

“I congratulate the new Head of Service for a well-deserved appointment. She has a great profile, meaning she has gathered a lot of experience over the years. I enjoin her to bring her wealth of experience to bear in the state civil service,” the Speaker stated.

He added, “The MORE mantra of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori needs the support of every stakeholder in the state. The civil service is key and must be strengthened for better service delivery.

The new HoS has a responsibility to build a better and stronger system. I pray that God grant her the wherewithal to succeed.”
