Group Hails Okowa’s Infrastructure Development In Delta
ABUJA/Nigeria: A group, Global Youth Skill Acquisition and Poverty Eradication Organisation, on Friday hailed Delta Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa for his efforts in transforming Delta through numerous projects, poverty reduction and curbing youth restiveness.
Mr Emmanuel Ozegbe, its Chief Executive Officer, gave the commendation in an interview in Abuja.
According to him, Okowa’s inclusive administration and passion for infrastructural development of the state have brought unity, peace, cohesiveness and reduced youth restiveness in the state.
He said that through a robust free healthcare delivery system in the state the governor had cared for the children, women and the aged.
“We are proud of the Delta administration’s empowerment and skills acqusition programmes as well as Okowa’s giant strides in the infrastructure development.
Ozegbe said the government’s track record had endeared him to the citizens and urged him to run for Presidency in 2023 to enable him to replicate such efforts in all parts of the country.
He acknowledged that the country needed visionary leaders such as Okowa to take it out of the shackles of poverty, under development and youth restiveness.
The group said it would mobilise Nigerians irrespective of political divide for the emergence of their preferred candidate, adding that what the nation needed mostly “is someone who will unite the country”.
“We are calling on him to reciprocate the level of good governance and patriotism he has demonstrated in his state to the national level for the country to benefit and move forward.”
He described the governor as a “team player that carries everybody along without discrimination or exclusion.
“Before now, other governors of Delta were concentrating on their immediate environment but Okowa has his projects scattered all over the three senatorial district of the state.
“So, he is experienced, detribalised, educated and not learning on the job.
“If the citizens are asking for someone to fix this country, I will nominate Gov. Okowa, a former Senator, and we will rally round him.”
Ozegbe urged Nigerians to rally round the governor for better delivery of democratic dividends.
Speaking further on youth restiveness, Ozegbe called on the federal government to be more drastic in enunciating policies that would reduce violence among youths as well as encourage agriculture through incentive to the youth.
