Governor Sheriff Oborevwori means well for all Deltans(FEATURES)

The last one year has been all about the MORE AGENDA of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in action. Deltans home and abroad can see how quickly the State is advancing under the leadership of a man everyone calls “The people’s Governor’ .

**The Okpanam-Ibusa by Pass Recently Inaugurated By the State Government**

Delta State has been turned into a construction site with projects taking place in all the 3 Senatorial Districts, Delta North, Delta South and Delta Central. Am talking about significant projects that will affect the lives of Deltans positively and also attract investors from around the world. A real Democrat who has been completing and commissioning projects previous administrations because continuity is the fastest way to perfection in any Government.

Governor Sheriff has touched the lives of civil servants in Delta State in so many ways by reducing working days from five to three days a week. Making funds available for full payment of arrears of all civil servants. This has boosted the confidence of the workers in the system. In Delta State now, promotion exams for civil servants are now held and workers paid promotion arrears as at when due.

Retirees were also taken care of by His Excellency in his first few months in office as he ordered the payments of all pensioners monies owed to to retirees to be fully paid.Knowing the need for more Deltans to be employed, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori did a mass employment of over 2,000 primary school teachers and non academic staffs in all the 25 Local Government Areas.

As a Governor who understands the importance of inclusivity in Governance, he has set up various Social Investment Programs and empowerments for Deltans living below average cutting across the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State. Am talking about programs like the DELTA CARES-SHERIFF CARES PROGRAM and the LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMS, headed by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment programs, Chief Dr Isioma Okonta.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, also launched the MORE Grant Scheme for petty traders, artisans and female entrepreneurs with 5,426 persons from poor and vulnerable households in the state benefitting, which is been supervised by the Hon Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs , girl child and community development, Mis Orode Uduaghan.

The Governor of Delta State is a man with so much compassion and that is why I decided to emulate him and help advance Delta State by embarking on a Sensitization Tour of the MORE AGENDA to Vulnerable communities in the State, cut across the 3 Senatorial Districts tagged “CONNECTING WITH VULNERABLE DELTANS THROUGH TRADITIONAL AND MODERN MEDIA CHANNELS.

As a Senior Special Assistant To The Governor Of Delta State on Media, I decided to embark on this tour using the traditional media channels to connect with Deltans living in vulnerable communities, giving them a sense of belonging, a sense of inclusivity and above all HOPE.

This project will also help mitigate misinformation and political blackmail, as important and verified information about the State will be passed on to them. They have the right to know what the Governor is doing in Delta State, for the Governor as promised more and he is doing more. The Governor has also said time without number that his administration is for all Deltans, irrespective of your social , political or religious affiliations.

As we connect with these vulnerable communities and communities in riverine areas, my team and I give the opportunity to speak up about their wants, worries and concerns. This in a long run will help enhance peace and security which is an important part of His Excellency ‘s MORE AGENDA. Many DELTANS suffer from mental and emotional breakdown which can easily be associated with some of the chaos happening here and there. For any society to strive, peace and security must be taken seriously. So these persons must be given the opportunity to speak up to help curb mental breakdown.

I believe advancing Delta State is not the Job of the Governor alone, all hands must be on deck, that is why I had to play my own part by embarking on this huge Sensitization Tour using Traditional and modern Media Channels tagged “CONNECTING WITH VULNERABLE DELTANS THROUGH TRADITIONAL AND MODERN MEDIA CHANNELS.

Governor Sheriff is indeed a man of Grace and a breathe of fresh air to all Deltans. I am very certain that in no distance time, investors from all over the world will visit Delta State. I am so pleased with the State conducting a free and fair Local Government Council elections and his acceptance of the Judgement that gives Local Government Council Chairmen autonomy. This will drive Development quickly to the grassroots.
