Governor Oborevwori: Our Administration a Product of God’s Grace and Mercy
IBABU/Nigeria: In a heartfelt declaration, the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, emphasized that his administration owes its existence to the grace and mercy of God. The Governor made these remarks during a thanksgiving service held at St. John’s Anglican Church in Ibabu, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the State. The occasion was held to honor the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, and was attended by a host of dignitaries, including political figures and members of the clergy.
Governor Oborevwori, accompanied by his wife, Tobore, expressed his gratitude to God for the successful inauguration of their tenure as Governor and Deputy Governor, as well as for their triumphs during the elections and legal battles. He acknowledged the challenges they had faced and attributed their victories to divine intervention. “Onyeme and I are products of God’s mercy and grace,” he stated. The Governor stressed the significance of expressing gratitude to God and vowed to continue appreciating His hand in their lives and in the affairs of the state.
While commending the previous administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for its initiatives in skills training and entrepreneurship, Governor Oborevwori promised to build upon those efforts and improve the lives of the people of Delta State. Addressing his Deputy, he expressed his satisfaction with their partnership, affirming that it was God who had chosen Onyeme. He concluded with the declaration, “By the grace of God, we will work together to deliver on our M.O.R.E Agenda.”
Governor Oborevwori reassured the people of Delta State that his administration would prioritize fairness and justice in appointments and project distribution. He urged the citizens to continue praying for him, ensuring that he would fulfill his campaign promises to the best of his ability. “The appointments are coming,” he added, “and they will reflect a mix of both young, average, and older individuals. God is leading us, and nobody is directing this administration. We will do what is right for our people at the right time.”
The service also featured a sermon delivered by the Bishop of Ika Diocese and Supervising Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Godfrey Ekpenisi. Titled “Seven Principles of Starting and Finishing Strong,” the sermon advised leaders to seek wisdom, promote excellence, demonstrate good leadership, exhibit love for the people, nurture their families, and honor God throughout their tenures.
