Governor Oborevwori Mourns Tragic Death of Pupil in School Building Collapse

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his condolences to the family of a young pupil who tragically lost his life following the collapse of a building at Eghereka Primary School in Ewu Town, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described the incident as a deeply unfortunate tragedy.

The collapsed building, a block of six classrooms that had been out of use for over a decade, came down during heavy rainfall, claiming the life of Primary 2 pupil Ojiyovwin Salvation and injuring three other children.

Governor Oborevwori extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased, the staff of the school, and the injured pupils. “We are all deeply saddened by the loss of this young child.

The Governor commiserates with the family of the deceased pupil, the management and staff of the school, as well as the pupils injured in this unfortunate incident,” the statement read.

The Governor praised the swift response that ensured the rescue of the injured pupils and acknowledged the actions of Dr. Lucky Avweromre, the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, who visited the scene and provided support to the victims and their families.

Governor Oborevwori further conveyed that words alone could not fully ease the grief of the bereaved family. He prayed that God would grant them and the entire community the strength to endure the loss, offering his hopes for God’s comfort in these trying times.
