Governor Oborevwori Describes Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark as a Patriot with Integrity

KIAGBODO/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, describing the elder statesman as a patriotic Nigerian and a man of unshakable integrity.
Governor Oborevwori, accompanied by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and other top government officials, paid a condolence visit to the Clark family at their country home in Kiagbodo, where the late Pa Clark was laid to rest.
In his tribute, the Governor described Pa Clark as a towering figure whose legacy in the development of the Niger Delta and the country as a whole is undeniable. He noted that the nonagenarian was widely respected for his contributions to the region’s growth and his unwavering commitment to justice and equity.
“Pa Clark was not only a household name, but a man of remarkable integrity who dedicated his life to the development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria,” Governor Oborevwori said. “He lived a fulfilled life and left an indelible mark on the history of this country. His boldness, courage, and articulate nature set him apart as a voice for truth and justice.”
The Governor also recounted personal interactions with the late elder statesman, recalling that Pa Clark was always forthright in his opinions and focused on the greater good. “When we last spoke, Papa told me I was doing well as Governor, and if I wasn’t, he would have told me as much. He was always direct, focused, and had a sharp memory,” Oborevwori said.
He further assured the Clark family and the Ijaw nation of the state government’s full support during this mourning period, emphasizing that Pa Clark’s impact would continue to inspire future generations.
In her response, Mrs. Rebecca Okorodudu, the eldest daughter of the deceased, along with other family members, expressed deep gratitude to the Governor for his visit and support. She assured the Governor that the Clark family would continue to stand behind his administration’s policies and initiatives.
The late Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a prominent figure in the Niger Delta, will be remembered for his unwavering advocacy for the region’s development, his role in shaping national discourse, and his steadfast commitment to his community and country.
