Governor Oborevwori Applauded for Impactful Delta CARES Programme Benefiting Vulnerable Communities

ISIOKOLO/Nigeria:  Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has received widespread commendation for his approval of the Delta Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) programme, which has significantly impacted the lives of the state’s most vulnerable residents.

Beneficiaries of the programme’s livelihood grants and other forms of assistance across Delta State expressed their gratitude, praising the governor for the life-changing support they have received. Many urged the state government to sustain the initiative, highlighting how it has provided much-needed relief to thousands of Deltans in dire need.

In Isiokolo community, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Mrs. Idekpome Egodotaire, a recipient of the livelihood stipend, shared her gratitude for receiving N20,000 twice, which has helped meet her daily needs. Elated by the support, she expressed her thanks to Governor Oborevwori, offering prayers for the programme’s continuation.

Similarly, Mrs. Akpedena Arhabor, also from Isiokolo, expressed how the stipend has enabled her to afford essential medication for the first time through any government initiative. Her health has improved as a result, and she hailed the programme as a vital source of support.

In Warri South Local Government Area, Mrs. Christy Esquire from Ekurede-Urhobo expressed her appreciation for the D-CARES livelihood grant. She revealed that the N100,000 she received allowed her to expand her provision shop, which now provides food for her family on a daily basis. Mrs. Esquire praised the governor for this impactful initiative, which has transformed her business.

In Bomadi Local Government Area, an elderly woman, Mrs. Samao Sapele, conveyed her gratitude in Ijaw language, explaining how the stipend had sustained her in her old age. She urged the government to continue the programme, emphasising its importance for elderly residents who rely on such support. Another resident of Amatebe community, Mrs. Helen Tamigbe, echoed these sentiments, thanking the governor for bringing hope to vulnerable individuals. She prayed for the governor’s protection and pledged the community’s support for his administration.

In Ayama community, the D-CARES team met Mrs. Baby Ekioezonaemi, a physically challenged woman who used her livelihood grant to purchase a water tank to expand her water-selling business. She expressed her gratitude to the state government, noting that her business had improved since receiving the grant.

A fish seller from the same community shared a similar story of success, explaining how the first N20,000 stipend helped her stay in business and even expand her operations.

Throughout their visits to various communities, the Delta CARES team was met with heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries, who praised Governor Oborevwori for implementing a programme that directly reaches those most in need. Many requested that the team convey their thanks to the governor and their hopes for the programme’s continued success.

The D-CARES initiative has clearly made a profound difference in the lives of many, providing vital economic relief to vulnerable Deltans across the state.
