Gov Udom of Akwa Rescued from Collapse Church Building

Uyo: The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State in South south Nigeria, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel a had been rescued from a collapse church Building in the State capital, Uyo.

The governor who was attending a church service for the enthronement of the founder of the Reigners Church, Apostle Akan Weeks, as a Bishop, according to information escaped death by the Whiskers.

According to report from eye witnesses who were at the scene,3 persons had been confirmed dead, while about 50 persons were injured.

However, the governor according to report was rushed to the Government House Clinic for treatment, while preliminary rescue is on going.

The occasion the report said was attended by many high profile Akwa Ibom Citizens, and the incident occurred about 11,:00am, just few minutes after governor Udom Emmanuel and his entourage entered inside the church.

She added the governor and many others however narrowly escaped death but sustained serious injuries.

A reliable police source said. “As we speak now all the patrol teams within Uyo are there trying to rescue as many as they can.

But they said they needed a crane “You know a big function is supposed to hold there today. But I heard that they had to hire Julius Berger cranes because that is the kind of machine can that can be used under such situation’

However emergency ambulances were spotted along barracks Road about 12:30pm carrying some of the wounded victims and heading towards the Ibom specialist hospital at Itam.

The governor’s condition was not ascertained at the time of filing this report even as sources said he was rushed out immediately the unfortunate incident occurred.

Also the number of deaths has not been confirmed yet even though no fewer than 30 persons were feared died on the spot.
