Foundation Brings Yuletide Cheer to Over 500 Vulnerable Women in Asaba
ASABA/Nigeria: As the yuletide season approaches, the Women of Grace Initiative, in collaboration with Ailen Medical Center, brought smiles to the faces of over 500 vulnerable women, including aged mothers, widows, and single mothers, in Asaba and its environs. The outreach, which has become an annual tradition, distributed food items, cash gifts, and essential medical supplies to beneficiaries, reinforcing the organizations’ commitment to supporting communities in need.
Speaking at the event held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, the founder of Women of Grace Initiative and CEO of Ailen Medical Center, Dr. Mrs. Agatha Diden, reaffirmed her dedication to empowering women through spiritual guidance and material support. “This foundation was born out of a divine vision to uplift broken women, giving them a sense of purpose and hope,” Dr. Diden shared. “For the past five years, we have gathered weekly to provide not just physical support but also emotional and spiritual nourishment. This year, we aim to extend our reach to 5,000 women across Delta State.”

Dr. Diden emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups, urging governments, private organizations, and philanthropic individuals to intensify their support. “While we are committed to giving back annually across the three senatorial districts of Delta State, we need collective efforts to make a lasting impact. The government must prioritize the needs of vulnerable citizens, but everyone has a role to play,” she added. She also encouraged prayers for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other leaders, highlighting her husband’s involvement in government as an example of service to the people.
Representing the Delta State Governor’s media team, Comrade Sagboje Efe Felix, on behalf of the Director General of the Connecting with Vulnerable Deltans initiative, Ambassador Emadifie Joshua Ese, praised the Women of Grace Foundation for its impactful work. He noted the alignment between the foundation’s efforts and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on uplifting vulnerable Deltans.
“This collaboration reflects the shared goal of creating a sense of belonging and hope for our people. We call on well-meaning Nigerians to support initiatives like this, as they truly make a difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Comrade Felix concluded.
