Former Federal Lawmaker Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi to Feature as Discussant at 2024 Maris Annual Public Service Lecture
ASABA/Nigeria: As the Maris Trust Council prepares for the 2024 edition of its Annual Public Service Lecture, slated for Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Delta State, the lineup of discussants promises a thought-provoking discussion on the theme, “Flight Of Talents: Navigating Nigeria’s Brain Drain Predicament.”
This year’s edition will spotlight the theme “Flight Of Talents: Navigating Nigeria’s Brain Drain Predicament,” with Prof. Stella Chinye Chiemeke, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, delivering the keynote address. The occasion will be chaired by Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko, member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Adding depth to the discussions will be Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, former member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Called as “Ada Anioma,” Rt. Hon. Onyemaechi brings a wealth of experience to the panel, having served in various elective and appointive capacities since 1999.
In a statement to journalists, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Secretary of the Maris Trust Council, expressed gratitude for Rt. Hon. Onyemaechi’s commitment to participating as a discussant. The lecture, a fixture during Holy Week, seeks to engage diverse stakeholders in constructive dialogue. Notable figures such as Dr. Barry Gbe, Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Chief Philomena Ededey Ugheminaye, a renowned educationist, will join Rt. Hon. Onyemaechi on the panel.
