OGHARA/Nigeria: Hon. Ehiatake Ibori-Suenu, the representative for Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to expedite the rehabilitation of the Benin-Warri Express Road, dubbing it a “death trap.”
This call comes in the wake of a devastating fire incident that claimed lives and caused significant property damage. The tragedy unfolded as a truck carrying fuel tumbled along the Benin-Warri Road, specifically at Ugbenu Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Hon. Ibori-Suenu described it as a “terrible” occurrence and lamented that it transpired during a period of economic hardship, impacting low-income families and vulnerable Nigerians across the nation.
Promising to leverage her legislative influence, Hon. Ibori-Suenu pledged to advocate vigorously for the swift rehabilitation of the perilous road. She also offered valuable advice to citizens, urging them to refrain from rushing to accident scenes involving petroleum tanker vehicles to prevent unnecessary loss of lives and property.
The compassionate lawmaker extended her gratitude to those who worked diligently to mitigate the effects of the explosion and expressed hope that individuals hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries would receive the necessary treatment for a prompt recovery.
