ABUJA/Nigeria: Few days before President Mohammadu Buhari to leave office, approval for the establishment of a federal University, in Delta State to be sited in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, and this had been confirmed by a group, known as Organised Ndokwa Efforts, ONE which had been in the forefront of development of the federal constituency.
This development was confirmed by the office of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sunny Areh on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
The statement stated that achievement was made fruitful through the consistent push by the Deputy Senate President.
The statement read as:
Following persistent strategic and fruitful engagements between the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, and a subsequent direct request to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the Federal Government has now approved the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science, Kwale.”
“This is a great win for all our people, especially the Ndokwa Nation. It is a fulfillment of a major campaign promise by the DSP to the good people of Ndokwa Nation during the last electoral campaigns. We give all the glory to God Almighty.”
:The DSP is eternally grateful to Mr. President for his undeniable patriotic and equitable leadership spirit which has again resulted in the establishment of this much needed institution for the overall good of our people, after his similar approval of the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun. The DSP thanks his dear friend, the Honourable Minister of Education for consistently demonstrating admirable patriotism and respect for positive friendship in managing the huge responsibilities of State.”
“The establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science, Kwale is, without question, a worthy achievement. It is the hope of the Deputy President of the Senate that our leaders will work together to realize its proper take-off and sustainable functioning.”
Reacting to the development, Organised Ndokwa Efforts, described the development as a great one, as the new institution was one of the Universities that was considered and approved by the National Assembly.
A representative of ONE, Mr. Ossai Udom in a statement, and was further confirmed to Ndokwa Reporters through a phone conversation, said the development will be escalated to bring the Federal Ministry of Education and the Tedfund to ensure the execution of the approval.
The statement, however, calls on the Senator-Elect, Prince Ned Nwoko, and House of Representatives-Elect, Mr. Nnamdi Ezechi to pursue its implementation once they assume office.
“It is amongst the six of its kind that went through the usual rigours of ÑASS up to approval. One is allowed to each of the Six Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria.”

“This project is to the Credit of DSP Ovie Omo-Agege and our Hon. Ossai Nicolas Ossai,member Representing Ndokwa/ Ukwuani Federal Constituency.”
“What we should concern ourselves with is the push by our Delta North Senator incoming Bar. Ned Nwoke and if all is equal, our incoming HOR member, to ensure a follow-up for its Funding from the Ministry of Education and Terfund. Here the sagacity of the duo will be called to play.”
“For the time being, we should appreciate the two outgoing NASS Members that made it happen namely, DSP Omo-Agege and Hon. Ossai Nicolas Ossai for breaking the JINX! Who knows, they might even push for some preliminary leg work before handing over!”
ONE, however, stated that the earlier proposed Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, FUATA, is still on course, and not dead.
“May I further inform us that FUATA is not dead! If the Miracle does not happen in a few days vide Presidential Assent, it will represent in the 10th National Assembly through our incoming members plus we are pulling the necessary strings to ensure it becomes a reality.”
“Moreso, the efforts to get it through will be less rigorous at NASS since it will not be viewed as a new matter.”
“This achievement forms the beginning of our contractual agreement with our Political Elected Ndokwa/Ukwuani persons.”
