Ezhie Lauds Okowa for Awarding Contract for Ezionum/Abbi Road Construction

Ezhionum:  State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has been commended for his commitment towards the speedy development of Delta State, especially, for awarding the contract for the tarring of the Ezionum/Abbi road.
HRM Dr Roland Osanwuta, the Ezhie of Ezionum Kingdom and Chairman, Ukwuani Traditional Council gave the commendation in a chat with journalists for the year, 2017 at his Palace at Ezionum, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the King, for years, the Ezionum/Abbi road has been without government attention and the construction of the road by Governor Okowa’s administration would ease the sufferings of commuters and also shorten travelling distance for the road users.
The royal father stated that 2017 will be better than previous years if “Nigerians embrace God; all Nigerians must embrace God, our creator because, when we embrace God and follow all His commandments in totality, then a Journalist will be a good Journalist, he will not see one thing and write another because of his pocket; a King will be a good King and will rule not because of what he will put in his pocket; Councillors, Chairmen, lawmakers, Governors up to the President, will carry out their functions according to the laws of God and if we follow the laws of God, our problems will be over.”
“Once you embrace Christ and you follow the Commandments, you will not do anything wrong,” he said, asking, “are you saying we don’t have money in this country, even in a period of recession?  We should embrace Christ and everything will be right; If you think you are a Moslem, be a good Moslem, but above all, we should be hard working because a lazy man will die of hunger.”
HRM Osanwuta used the occasion to commend those who have contributed to the development of his Kingdom, disclosing that the President General of Association of Commodity Market Women and Men Association of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Felicia Sani has done a lot to attract development to Ezionum Kingdom.
“If we have all our Chiefs contributing to the development of our Kingdom, assisting government in the provision of projects, our Kingdoms will be better,” he said, reiterating, “God has been using High Chief Felicia Sani, who I gave the Chieftaincy title of Nne Ka Nne of Ezhionum Kingdom in wonderful ways; when our step down transformer was vandalized, she singularly repaired it with the sum of N3.5 million and when the issue of indebtedness to BEDC came up, she paid N3.5 million which led to the restoration of electricity in the Kingdom.”
He emphasised, ” High Chief Sani has been taking care of the aged men and women in this community – the Adas, Okpala-Ukus, Ofashies and Okwas and she went on to equip the Police Station by donating one Hilux Van and two motor cycles for the Police Station; there was a time she was paying fees for students sitting for external exams and I can tell you that she is an asset to this community and I am looking forward to other title chiefs to join the government to transform the community because, Government cannot do it alone.”
