Ex-Ambassador Calls For Review Of Nation’s Security Architecture To Fight Insecurity

IBADAN/Nigeria: Nigeria former Ambassador, Dr Yemi Farombi has called for concerted efforts to reduce high rate of banditry, kidnapping and security menace in the country.

Dr Yemi Farombi in a paper he delivered, titled: “Role Of Media In The Midst Of Banditry Kidnapping And Security Challenges In The Country” at a quarterly Meeting of Christ School Alumni Association 80/85 set held at Subomi Balogun University of lbadan, conference Centre and Hotels Ibadan on Saturday.

The Guest lecturer berated the haphazard commitment in fighting the menace of insecurity in the country by the Federal government which is not good for the country security architecture

“It is scaring to the populace that herdsmen now occupy the space of human minds and unsettled the hardworking farmers that are spread across the country which is now resulting in food scarcity” Farombi submitted.

He lamented that the rate at which Media gives unsolicited publicity to the banditry has created a serious frightening to the psychology of the populace.

Dr Farombi, who is equally an old student of Christ School Ado Ekiti posited that   “our country must retrace its step to egalitarian society where every ethnic nationalities will be at peace with themselves and equal standpoint without fear of unknown”

Earlier, the Christ School 80/85 set Chairman, Barrister Ade Kingsley Ogunmiloyo explained that the Alumni Association of Christ School is primarily established to add value to Christ school and equally promote human resource development collectively and individuals.

Barrister Ade Kingsley Ogunmiloyo admonished all members to show elements of cohesion and understanding among members so that we can sustain the name we bear ” Christ School”.
