Enhanced Gender-Friendly Environments Key to Women’s Career Success, Says Delta State Speaker on International Women’s Day

ASABA/Nigeria: On International Women’s Day, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has emphasized the importance of creating enhanced gender-friendly environments to encourage more women to excel in their chosen careers.

Acknowledging the remarkable achievements of Nigerian women in global affairs, the Speaker highlighted that greater involvement of women in nation-building could foster peace and development in society.

As the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of the States Houses of Assembly, Rt Hon Guwor underscored the necessity for more policies and programs promoting women’s participation in all aspects of human endeavors.

He noted the theme of this year’s celebration, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” which emphasizes tackling women’s economic disempowerment, as particularly relevant and deserving of increased attention.

In a statement released by his Chief Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker celebrated the women of Delta State and urged them to continue supporting the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. He encouraged them to remain focused on promoting peace and prosperity in Delta State.

Rt Hon Guwor reassured women that the state government’s MORE agenda has much in store for them, aligning with the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that no segment of society is left out in his all-inclusive governance.
