Eminent Figures to Convene for 20th Anniversary Celebration of HEDA Resource Centre
LAGOS/Nigeria: On Saturday, February 24th, a distinguished gathering of prominent Nigerians representing various spheres of society will assemble in Ikeja, Lagos, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) Resource Centre.
The centerpiece of the anniversary proceedings will be a thought-provoking lecture themed “Navigating the Nexus of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance in Nigeria: Striking a Balance for Economic, Social, and Environmental Justice.” Esteemed speakers slated for the event include Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Dr. Olisa Agbakoba SAN, a foremost activist. The lecture will be held under the chairmanship of Honourable Justice L.A Okunnu, a respected jurist serving on the Lagos State High Court.
Established in 2001, HEDA has emerged as a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advancing transparency, good governance, human rights, environmental justice, and sustainable development in Nigeria. Formally incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on February 24th, 2004, the organization marks its official 20-year milestone this year, having made significant contributions to the Nigerian civic space over the span of 23 years through the tireless efforts of its activists and patriots.
The anniversary event is scheduled to take place at the Bon Hotel, located at 51 Sobo Arobiodu Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, commencing promptly at 10:00 AM. Attendees can anticipate engaging discussions on crucial issues pertaining to anti-corruption, good governance, and justice in Nigeria.
