Ejiofor Endorses Ned Nwoko’s Possible APC Move, Backs Anioma State Creation
By Austin Oyibode
ASABA/Nigeria: Chief Emma Ejiofor, a leading member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North, has endorsed Senator Ned Nwoko’s potential defection to the party, describing it as a move that would bolster the APC’s influence in Delta State.
During an interview on LeapTV, Ejiofor said Nwoko’s entry would enhance the party’s strategic positioning, with Delta North already having three APC senators.
Ejiofor revealed that Senator Nwoko is still in the consultation phase but assured that the APC in Delta North is eager to welcome him. Describing Nwoko as a skilled and strategic politician, he emphasized that the senator’s presence in the APC would be a valuable asset in navigating the region’s political dynamics.
On the resistance to Nwoko’s defection, Ejiofor argued that it stems from entrenched political elites who fear losing control. He maintained that these individuals are more concerned with protecting their positions than serving the interests of the people. He also noted that many APC members, including those in other parties, had their roots in the PDP, making political realignments a norm.
The APC chieftain reaffirmed his support for the creation of Anioma State, asserting that it would bring governance closer to the people and catalyze development in the region. He criticized those opposing the idea, attributing their resistance to fears of a shift in political power.
Ejiofor concluded by expressing optimism about the APC’s chances in the 2027 elections, emphasizing inclusivity as the party’s key to success and urging Anioma people to take control of their political future.
