EFI and Precious Family Aid Launch Anti-Cultism Campaign in Delta Schools
OKPANAM/Nigeria: The Eye on the Future Initiative (EFI), in collaboration with the Precious Family Aid Charity Foundation, held a sensitisation campaign on Friday aimed at tackling cultism among secondary school students in Delta State. The event, held at Okpanam High School in Oshimili North Local Government Area, encouraged students to avoid social vices that could ruin their future.
The campaign, tagged “Back to School,” urged students to focus on their education and steer clear of cult-related activities. Executive Director of Precious Family Charity Aid Foundation, Mrs. Patricia Gbemudu, advised students not to disappoint their parents by engaging in cultism, warning that such behaviour could derail their potential.
Gbemudu emphasised the importance of academic commitment, reminding the students that they are the leaders of tomorrow. She stressed that their focus should be on their studies, as this will shape their future success.
Similarly, Executive Director of EFI, Comrade Josephine Omodior, spoke about the need for students to build strong moral foundations. She cautioned them to resist the allure of cultists and avoid being lured into dangerous and secretive activities.
Omodior reiterated that there are no benefits to cultism, urging students not to be swayed by promises or enticements from those involved in such groups. Her message was clear: cultism is a path to destruction.
The Zonal Secretary of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Eunice Emeyazia, also addressed the students, describing cultism as an evil gathering that must be avoided at all costs. She encouraged them to remain focused on their education and steer clear of harmful influences.
The Principal of Okpanam High School, Mr. William Dickson, expressed gratitude to the organisations for their efforts. He noted that the students needed this form of sensitisation to guide them away from the dangers of cultism.
The event concluded with the distribution of educational materials to the students, reinforcing the message of staying committed to their studies and personal development.
