ECOWAS Holds Emergency Talks in Accra on Member State Exits

ABUJA/Nigeria: Leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are meeting in Accra, Ghana, for an Extraordinary Session aimed at managing the withdrawal of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger from the bloc.
The April 22–23 talks will address the technicalities of the withdrawal process and assess the operational future of ECOWAS institutions based in the three nations.
The high-level session also seeks to prevent further disintegration within the bloc, which has long stood as a symbol of West African unity.
