Economic Boost: Ethiope East PDP Channels N22M to 220 Beneficiaries

ISIOKOLO/Nigeria: Elected representatives and political appointees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area, under the leadership of Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, have empowered 220 constituents with N22 million in cash.
The initiative, carried out on Monday, aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, aimed at fostering job and wealth creation across the state.
Rt. Hon. Akpowowo, speaking at the event, highlighted the governor’s strides in governance, stating that over 250,000 youths and women entrepreneurs have been empowered across Delta’s three senatorial districts. He assured that further empowerment programmes were in the pipeline and predicted an overwhelming PDP victory in 2027 due to Oborevwori’s achievements since assuming office.
Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, emphasized that the initiative was a token of appreciation for party faithfuls and a means to alleviate poverty. Similarly, Chief James Omeru announced N5.5 million for 33 women, while Chief (Barr.) George Orogun revealed plans for a special empowerment scheme, details of which will be announced through the party leadership.
Other speakers, including State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, and Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, reaffirmed their support for Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, predicting another landslide victory for the PDP in 2027. South-South PDP Woman Leader, Chief Mrs. Tessy Torru, and PDP Publicity Secretary for Ethiope Federal Constituency, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, urged beneficiaries to invest their funds wisely, while assuring that the opposition remains incapable of challenging PDP’s dominance in Delta State.
