DTSG Urges Deltans to Comply With Fg Declared Holiday … Calls for Peaceful, Orderly Conduct At Polls
ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has enjoined Deltans and other residents to comply with the declaration of a public holiday as pronounced by the Federal Government.
This, according to the state government, followed the re-scheduling of the presidential and national assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Saturday February 23, 2019, and subsequent declaration of Friday February 22, 2019 as a public holiday, by the Federal Government.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Festus Ovie Agas, stated that the public holiday would enable registered voters to travel to their respective voting locations to exercise their franchise.
The statement urged all Deltans to maintain peaceful, orderly and lawful conduct before, during and after the elections.
