Dr. Stella Achuenu to Unveil Three Scholarly Works June 5

ASABA/Nigeria: In what promises to be a transformative moment for Nigerian academia, Dr. Stella Achuenu, a senior lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Jos, is set to launch three pioneering literary works on June 5th at the Orchid Hotel, DSB Road, Asaba.
The highly anticipated books, titled “ABC of Tourism,” “Elements of Urban Planning,” and “History of Urban and Regional Planning,” are set to make significant contributions to academic and professional libraries nationwide.
Dr. Achuenu, who is currently on sabbatical at Dennis Osadebeh University, Anwai Asaba, stated that her dream is to see the works adorning the shelves of educational institutions across Nigeria, from universities to polytechnics.
“This event goes beyond mere publication; it marks a milestone in the enrichment of Nigerian literature and academia,” Dr. Achuenu stated.
The venue, exuding an atmosphere of scholarly elegance, will open its doors at 11 am for what is expected to be a momentous occasion, which has Dr. Emmanuel Akpoveta, of Department of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku as the Chairman of the Book Launching Planning Committee.
Emphasizing the importance of funding during the launch, Dr. Achuenu highlighted its critical role in ensuring widespread distribution, aiming to reach academic libraries, individual collections, and public repositories alike.
Reviews of the books according to her have already shown their potential to benefit a diverse range of readers, from scholars and students to policymakers and the general public. The comprehensive exploration of tourism, urban planning, and regional history is anticipated to spark discussions and initiatives in these vital domains.
Dr. Stella Achuenu, is the wife of Professor Emmanuel Achuenu, the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
