WARRI/Nigeria: In a resounding statement of intent, Chief Godwin Ejiyenre, the Director General of the Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to restoring the former glory of Warri/Uvwie and Environs.
Chief Ejiyenre made this assertion during a pivotal meeting held with the management and staff of the Agency in Warri upon assuming his new office.
“The task given to us by the Governor is huge, and we will do everything humanly possible as key players through this Agency to carry out our job positively in the right direction to give Warri and Environs a total facelift,” he stated with unwavering resolve.
Acknowledging the past accomplishments of the Agency, Chief Ejiyenre emphasized the need for continuous improvement to make the designated area a better place for all residents.
“I have toured the Agency, and it’s evident that we must hit the ground running. The present state of the twin cities is not pleasing to the Governor. A lot of sensitization needs to be done to create public awareness in restoring Warri and Environs to her original glory. Whatever defaces Warri and makes it look this dirty must be cleared from the entrance point of the city to the NPA waterside,” he stressed.
Commending the dedicated efforts of the Agency’s management and staff, Chief Ejiyenre urged them to maintain their diligence and uphold the government’s image. He made it clear that he intended to be a partner in progress rather than just a boss, working collectively to advance the MORE agenda of the State Government.
Additionally, during a visit to the construction site of the Ogunu Community main road and Agogo layout (Phase I) in Warri South LGA, Chief Ejiyenre, accompanied by board members and aides, received a briefing from the Director of projects, Engr. Bemigho Ofoeyeno, on the progress of the ongoing work. He took the opportunity to commend the contractor, Centdraken Global Services, and the Director of Projects for their commitment to delivering quality work.
“Any job we entrust to others must be well supervised to ensure that we get the best, as the job is for Deltans. We are here today, but we are not going to be here forever, so whatever we are doing, we must do it right, so even the generation unborn will benefit from it,” Chief Ejiyenre stated firmly.
The Director of Administration and Finance of the Agency, Mr. Simon Esi, extended a warm welcome to Chief Ejiyenre on behalf of the management and staff, assuring him of their dedication to working effectively to achieve his goals.
