ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to foster greater public awareness and engagement, Delta State unveiled its latest initiative, Orientation Panorama, a weekly radio program aimed at sensitizing citizens on governmental policies and encouraging civic responsibility. The inaugural broadcast aired at 3:10 PM on Wednesday via Voice of Delta FM radio, a platform of the Delta Broadcasting Service in Asaba.

Conceived by the Delta State Orientation Bureau (DSOB), Orientation Panorama serves as a vital conduit between the government and the populace, providing insights into various government initiatives, achievements, and societal issues. Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, the CEO of DSOB, emphasized the program’s objective of bridging the gap between governance and the people.

During the maiden edition, Dr. Oghenesivbe highlighted the ongoing admissions process for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and the Short Service Commission Enlistment into the Nigerian Air Force, urging eligible youth to seize the opportunity. He stressed the importance of active participation and directed interested individuals to the respective application portals.

Furthermore, Dr. Oghenesivbe underscored the low utilization of Delta State’s quota in admissions and recruitments into the Armed Forces and the Police Service. In response, Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori mandated the DSOB to intensify awareness campaigns, utilizing mass media and community outreach programs across the state.

The program aims not only to inform citizens but also to instill values of patriotism, honesty, and hard work. Through Orientation Panorama, the Delta State government seeks to promote moral values, discourage social vices, and enhance civic engagement.

Looking ahead, the program will continue its weekly broadcasts, addressing a range of topics including cleanliness, youth empowerment, tax compliance, and government accountability. By leveraging the power of media and community engagement, Delta State aims to build a more informed and participatory society.

Listeners can tune in to Orientation Panorama every Wednesday from 3:10 PM to 4:00 PM on Voice of Delta FM radio (97.9 Asaba), with programming expanding to DBS Warri radio in the coming weeks.

As Delta State endeavors to fulfill its development agenda, Orientation Panorama stands as a cornerstone of its commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen empowerment.
