Delta State House of Assembly Schedules Public Hearing for Veterinary Clinics Regulation Bill

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State House of Assembly’s Joint Committee on Health and Agriculture and Natural Resources has announced a public hearing on the Bill to Amend the Regulation of Private Veterinary Clinics Law, 2006. This hearing is set for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 12 PM at the Press Centre of the Delta State House of Assembly Complex, Okpanam Road, Asaba.
Hon. Ferguson Onwo, Chairman of the House Committee on Health, made the announcement on behalf of the Joint Committee. The bill was referred to the committee on May 14, 2024, for further legislative scrutiny and action.
The Joint Committee has called for input from key stakeholders, including the Delta State Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Justice, as well as the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (Delta State Chapter), Civil Society Organizations, and other public and private sector stakeholders.
Interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit memoranda on the bill in 12 copies, enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the “Chairman, House Committee on Health” and marked “Regulation of Private Veterinary Clinics (Amendment) Bill.”
The statement further directed that submissions should be delivered to the Committee Clerk, House Committee on Health, at the Public Petitions Office of the Assembly by Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
