Delta State House of Assembly Embarks on Retreat to Chart Innovative Legislative Path for 8th Assembly
ASABA/Nigeria: Members of the Delta State House of Assembly have commenced a strategic retreat with the primary objective of formulating a robust legislative agenda for the 8th Assembly. The retreat is one that showcases members unwavering commitment to pioneering legislative practices and procedures.
The retreat with the theme “Building a Sustainable Future for Deltans through Complementary and Proactive Legislative Interventions,” underscores the assembly’s dedication to strategic planning and forward-thinking governance.
Welcoming the participating members, Speaker Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis expressed gratitude for the impressive turnout and the steadfast support of the assembly. He further emphasized the pivotal role of the Delta State House of Assembly as a trailblazer in legislative innovation among state legislatures nationwide. He pointed to the establishment of a Legislative Agenda as tangible evidence of the assembly’s proactive and visionary approach.
The retreat’s theme highlights the assembly’s commitment to complementary and proactive legislative interventions, setting the stage for discussions on strategies to ensure sustainable development in the state.

The Speaker stated that the legislative agenda is meant to be a guiding policy document for the 8th Assembly, in line with and supports the goals of the MORE Agenda of the Governor, as the anticipated collaboration between the legislative and executive branches is expected to foster good governance and propel the state towards sustainable development.
