Delta State Governor Vows to Spearhead Infrastructural Development and Inclusive Growth

ASABA/Nigeria: In a resolute commitment to usher in an era of robust infrastructural development, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable progress in Delta State, Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori emphasized his administration’s unwavering determination to break new grounds. The governor made this declaration during the swearing-in ceremony of nine new Special Advisers, whom he urged to play a pivotal role in realizing his administration’s transformative “M.O.R.E Agenda” for the state.

The newly appointed Special Advisers, who have been entrusted with the responsibility of helping to steer the state towards greater heights, include Hon. Charles Oniyere, Mr. Michael Ogboru, Chief Ebikeme Clark, Chief Sylvester Oromoni, Hon. Shadrach Rapu, Dr. Donald Peterson, Engr Goodnews Agbi, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor, and Chief Nathaniel Igbani.

Governor Oborevwori underscored the significance of these appointments as part of a deliberate effort to assemble a formidable team of technocrats and policy experts who will diligently execute the administration’s policies and programs. He emphasized, “Today, we have added nine more to strengthen the governance process imperative for the actualization of our MORE agenda.”

The governor articulated his vision for the state, stating, “This administration is poised to break new grounds in infrastructural development, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable development. Hence, we need men and women of competence, character, and capacity driven by good governance values of transparency, fiscal discipline, accountability, effective public communication, community engagement, and excellent service delivery.”

Governor Oborevwori expressed confidence in the intellectual depth, maturity, and political acumen of the newly appointed advisers, believing that they would contribute significantly to the success of his administration’s policies and programs. He urged them to bring forth innovative ideas that would propel the state forward.

“As policy experts and politicians conversant with our developmental aspirations, I expect nothing but the best from you. Your performance will be measured by your ability to generate new ideas, adapt quickly to emerging trends, and manage various interests and persuasions to advance Delta through the MORE agenda,” the governor emphasized, reflecting the administration’s urgency to achieve more in a relatively short time.

Furthermore, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of unity among the state’s diverse ethnic groups and cautioned against favoritism based on ethnicity, political affiliation, socioeconomic status, or educational background. He urged the Special Advisers to serve the people of Delta State impartially.

In response, Hon. Charles Oniyere, speaking on behalf of the appointees, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity to serve and affirmed their unwavering commitment to the success of the administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda.

The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of key government officials, including the State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, Speaker of the State House Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, State Chief Judge Justice Theresa Diai, and the representative of Burutu Federal Constituency, underscoring the significance of the occasion in Delta State’s governance landscape.
