Delta State Governor Urges Vigilance in Maintaining Cleanliness …. Inaugurates Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba
ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has called for concerted efforts to ensure the perpetual cleanliness of the region.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, made the call in Asaba, the State Capital, at the occasion to mark the inauguration of Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, a community center constructed under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili in Oshimili South Local Government Council.
Oborevwori stressed the importance of proactive and decisive measures by local government councils to promote proper waste disposal and cleanliness in the communities. He extended congratulations to Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili for delivering the modern community center, which he viewed as a significant legacy that the people of Asaba would forever cherish during community gatherings.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to build upon the achievements of the previous administration and lauded the efforts of former Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for transforming Asaba into a proper state capital.
At the same event, Governor Oborevwori extended felicitations to the Asagba of Asaba on his 99th birthday, commending his role as a unifying and peace-loving monarch. The Chairman of the Council, HRM Obi Edozien, expressed gratitude for the construction of Ogwa Ukwu, considering it an extension of the Palace.
In addition to the governor’s remarks, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, the representative of Oshimili South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, assured the public of their elected representatives’ dedication to the welfare of the people.
Hon. Dr. Ezenyili, in his address, emphasized that the reconstruction of Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba was driven by a vision of community and infrastructure development, as well as improved governance.
The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities, including the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
