Delta State Governor Extols Deputy Speaker Akpowowo on 51st Birthday

ASABA/Nigeria: In a commendatory gesture, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,  has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the Deputy Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, as the latter marked his 51st birth anniversary on Sunday.

In an official statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori joined the parliament, Ethiope East constituents, as well as friends and family of Deputy Speaker Akpowowo in acknowledging the significant contributions he has made over the years towards the growth and development of the state.

Governor Oborevwori lauded the Deputy Speaker for his political sagacity and his unparalleled commitment to fostering strong connections with the people, particularly in his Eku community and the broader Ethiope East constituency.

Highlighting Akpowowo’s impressive political trajectory, Governor Oborevwori pointed out that the Deputy Speaker had served in various capacities, including State Youth Leader of the PDP, Special Adviser, Commissioner for Urban Renewal, and presently as the Deputy Speaker of the State’s parliament.

Expressing gratitude for the amicable relationship between the legislature and other arms of government, Governor Oborevwori affirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the legislature in effectively delivering the M.O.R.E Agenda for the people.

Governor Oborevwori further commended Deputy Speaker Akpowowo for consistently demonstrating uncommon selflessness, ensuring that constituents reaped the benefits of democracy in all spheres.

In his congratulatory message, Governor Oborevwori extended warm wishes to the Deputy Speaker, saying, “On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Delta, I celebrate with you, our dear Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, on the occasion of your 51st birth anniversary. Mr. Deputy Speaker, I commend you for supporting the Speaker to effectively preside over the state’s parliament.”

The Governor concluded, “By all standards, you have made your mark in the politics of Delta, and I am glad that you have used your privileged positions to render service to our great state and humanity. As you celebrate this day with immense joy, I wish you good health, greater fulfilments, and a long life in the service of the state and humanity.”
