Delta State Governor Applauds Speaker Guwor’s Election as Treasurer of Nigerian Speakers’ Conference
ASABA/Nigeria: In a resounding show of support and camaraderie, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State extended his warm congratulations to Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, for his election as Treasurer of the esteemed Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.
The Governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Speakers’ Conference for their unwavering trust in Rt. Hon. Guwor’s capabilities. Governor Oborevwori, who had previously served as Treasurer and later as Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers, commended the Delta Speaker for treading in his illustrious footsteps, thereby bringing honor and prestige to the state.
In a sweeping gesture of goodwill, Governor Oborevwori also extended his felicitations to the newly appointed Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin Adebo of Oyo State and Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya of Katsina State, respectively. He urged these eminent presiding officers of state legislatures to perceive their roles as a noble call to serve, rather than being served.
Governor Oborevwori emphasized, “On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Delta State, I congratulate our esteemed Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, on his well-deserved election as Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria. I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Speakers of Oyo and Katsina States, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin Adebo and Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya, for their respective appointments. I am deeply thankful to the Speakers’ Conference for recognizing the worthiness of our Speaker to hold this significant role, following my own diligent service as Treasurer and Deputy Chairman during my tenure as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.”
He concluded by fervently praying for wisdom and understanding to be bestowed upon all the presiding officers in the pursuit of their weighty responsibilities in the crucial task of nation-building.
