Delta State Government Announces 2024 BECE Results, 91% Pass Rate Recorded

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government has officially released the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results, commonly referred to as JS 3 results.

In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, the government detailed the outcome of the examination conducted from June 6th to June 10th, 2024.

The statement announced that candidates could begin checking their results online starting Thursday, August 29, 2024. Of the 94,823 candidates who registered for the examination, an impressive 88,047 students, representing 91%, successfully passed.

However, the statement also noted that 7,142 candidates, making up 8% of the total, would need to re-sit the examination. Additionally, 490 candidates, representing 1%, failed the examination outright, while 1,144 candidates were absent during the testing period.

For those who did not pass, the statement confirmed that these students would be required to repeat the class when the new school term begins on September 9, 2024.

This year’s BECE results underscore the commitment of the Delta State Government to maintaining high educational standards, while also providing clear pathways for students who need additional support to meet these standards.
