Delta State Finance Commissioner Urges Miss Tourism Delta to Revitalize Cultural Heritage for Tourism Boom

ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to tap into Delta State’s rich cultural and tourism heritage, Sir Fidelis Okenmor Tilije, the Dean of the College of Commissioners and Commissioner for Finance, has called upon Miss Tourism Delta to adopt innovative strategies to attract tourists.

Sir Tilije made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the Miss Tourism Delta Beauty Pageant team, led by Amb Unumadu Huxley, the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Culture and Tourism.

Highlighting the untapped potential of the state’s tourism industry, Sir Tilije emphasized the need for proactive measures to position Delta at the forefront of cultural and tourism promotion in Nigeria and across Africa, with a strong focus on revenue generation.

Amb Unumadu Huxley echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of initiatives like the Miss Delta Beauty Pageant contest in advocating for social and moral change among youths while showcasing Delta State’s abundant tourism offerings.

Expressing gratitude for the Commissioner’s guidance and support, Amb Huxley emphasized the pivotal role of mentorship in driving the success of their endeavours.
