Delta State Embraces a Prophetic Soundtrack, Signaling the Dawn of a Promising Era at Governor Oborevwori’s Thanksgiving
ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori celebrated a double occasion with Thanksgiving to God as a personal honor. He expressed gratitude for being appointed Governor and reaching the milestone of turning 60 years old. These celebrations sparked prophetic declarations by Pastor Triumphant Obanor, the Delta State Pastor of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel International. Pastor Obanor prophesied that these events would usher Delta State onto a new path, marked by a fresh beginning throughout Governor Oborevwori’s tenure.
The thanksgiving service, organized by Governor Oborevwori, took place at the Living Faith Church on Ibusa Road, Asaba. During the service, Pastor Obanor congratulated the Governor on his election and swearing-in as the Governor of Delta State. He also acknowledged the significance of reaching the age of 60 and emphasized the importance of relying on God for a successful journey through life. Pastor Obanor stressed that neglecting God, the ultimate source of resources, would make life challenging and arduous.
Expressing the purpose of the thanksgiving service, Pastor Obanor stated, “We are here to show gratitude for the things the Lord has done. Ingratitude will cut you off from your source. To remain resourceful, you must be grateful. Thanksgiving is not as ordinary as we were taught as children. Thanksgiving is a mystery.” He then recounted the story of Jesus Christ in Luke 17:12-14, where only one out of ten lepers returned to express gratitude and was made whole. Pastor Obanor emphasized that genuine thanksgiving must be accompanied by worship.
The Pastor highlighted three benefits of thanksgiving: it completes the cycle of breakthrough, brings new life to confusing situations, and ensures sustainable development in every aspect of life. He asserted that thanksgiving is not optional but a commandment from God. Citing Psalm 98:1, Pastor Obanor prophesied a season of new songs and a new dawn for Delta State.
Governor Oborevwori spoke about his commitment to thanksgiving, stating that although the state organized previous thanksgiving and praise events, he personally felt a covenant with God to express gratitude. He clarified that his entry into politics stemmed from a conviction to serve rather than an ambition to become Governor. Additionally, he acknowledged that not everyone reaches the age of 60 and expressed gratitude for God’s presence throughout his life, even before consciously knowing and believing in Him.
Prominent figures attended the church service, including former Governor of Delta State, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, and his wife Edith, as well as former Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and his wife Roli. Representatives from the Governors of Edo, Bayelsa, Adamawa, and Oyo States were also present, alongside Chief Great Ogboru and his wife, Senator James Manager, Rt. Hon. Nicholas Mutu and his wife, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Rt. Hon. Ukodhiko, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis, the Chief Judge of Delta, Hon.
