Delta Sports Commission Chairman Congratulates Delta Queens GM on NWFL Role

ASABA/Nigeria: In a notable development for women’s football in Nigeria, the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission Board, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, has congratulated Chief Mrs. Mercy Awhana, the General Manager of Delta Queens Football Club, on her election as Financial Secretary of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
The election took place during the 2024 Annual General Assembly of the NWFL, held on December 17 at Fabino Hotel, Garki, Abuja.
Mr. Oborevwori expressed optimism about Mrs. Awhana’s new role, emphasizing the importance of sound financial management in driving the growth and sustainability of women’s football in Nigeria.
