Delta PDP Slams Labour Party’s Criticism of Governor Oborevwori’s First 100 Days in Office

ASABA/Nigeria: In a swift response to Chief Tony Ezeagwu, the South-South Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), who labeled Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s first 100 days in office as a “none event” and “lacking spark of governance,” the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed his claims as baseless.

Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the State Publicity Secretary of PDP, released a statement treating Ezeagwu’s criticism with disdain, asserting that the Labour Party Chieftain lacks comprehension of Governor Oborevwori’s achievements due to his constant travels across South-South and the Middle-Belt, including Taraba State. According to Osuoza, Ezeagwu is “totally unaware of the remarkable strides of Governor Oborevwori across the State.”

Osuoza further questioned the credibility of Ezeagwu’s criticism, stating, “Is that the person any right-thinking person would now want to take seriously and lose sleep over his criticism laden with twisted logic? His views are no doubt derived from the hearsay of his acolytes and obviously formed in the figment of his imagination.”

Regarding the Governor’s accomplishments in his first 100 days, Osuoza highlighted that numerous reports in the media have detailed Oborevwori’s actions since taking office on May 29, 2023. Osuoza added, “We don’t need to rehash what is already in the public domain. But suffice it to say that the party aligns with all that the Governor’s media office has put out because they are verifiable by Deltans and a true representation of the impressive outings of the Governor these 100 days.”

Osuoza commended the Governor’s commitment to monitoring ongoing road construction projects and fulfilling promises to complete inherited projects from the previous administration. He also praised the Governor’s humanitarian efforts, including releasing funds for outstanding pensions and promotion arrears for civil servants, as well as his plan to provide transportation solutions during austere times.

He emphasized the party’s faith in Governor Oborevwori’s ability and commitment to his M.O.R.E Agenda, urging Deltans to expect more from his administration. The Delta PDP family reiterated its commendation of Governor Oborevwori’s first 100 days in office, highlighting the notable projects and promising roadmaps that demonstrate his dedication to fulfilling his agenda.
