Delta Online Publishers Forum Holds Annual Retreat to Strengthen Financial Base and Inducts New Members

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) convened its annual retreat, marking a pivotal moment aimed at bolstering the financial underpinning of its members,  with a dedicated focus on amplifying the financial status of publishers, the retreat delved into understanding the operational mechanisms of financial institutions.

The retreat was held at the Ministry of Information conference hall, had representatives from Bank of Industry (BoI) and Premium Trust Bank educated members on strategies to secure funds vital for advancing their publishing ventures.

During the retreat, the Forum also welcomed and inducted new members, expanding its collective base.

The induction ceremony witnessed the addition of seven new members to the DOPF. These new inductees, now part of the forum as news publishers, were welcomed into a realm celebrated for its historical excellence in the journalism domain.

Emphasizing the ethos of journalistic excellence, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, Chairman of DOPF, articulated the collective responsibility incumbent upon all members to uphold the highest professional standards within the field. He advised the new inductees to embody the role of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) within their respective organizations and urged unity of purpose among the members.

Deacon Chukwudi Abiandu, the Vice Chairman, clarified the forum’s distinct position, asserting that DOPF operates autonomously and independently from affiliations with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). He highlighted the forum as a collective of entrepreneurial minds steering the realm of online newspaper publishing, guided by the constitutional framework of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The seven new inductees—Mr. Oweh Julius of The Pond News, Mr. Jikeme Smart of Fidelity Reporters, Ogwuda Austin of The Town Hall, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo of Pebnews, Mr. Daniel Oji of Actual News, Mr. Celestine Ukah of Area News, and Mrs. Christy Aboghe of The Hill Nigeria—now join the ranks of the distinguished members within the DOPF, poised to contribute to its growth and journalistic ethos.
